How can I check on my pet during their stay?
We have update photos available to purchase for your pet's stay, where we will send photos of your furry loved one.
You are allowed to call us during our operating hours at any time to ask how they have been, at no extra cost.
My pet is older, can their needs be accommodated?
Our staff is trained on geriatric needs and has accommodated all ages of all breeds. All staff is trained to help animals walk with slings, and on medication administration from injectables to pilling. You can have ease of mind when boarding your older pets with us, as we do all in our ability to make their stay with us more comfortable for them.
*Just a reminder, that we are not an overnight boarding facility, and there are always risks associated with boarding older pets, but we always do our best to accommodate all needs.
My pet is aggressive, can their needs be accommodated?
Our kennels are built with a guillotine door system that allows us to care for aggressive dogs. Not only does the kennel setup help us provide adequate care, but all our staff is also trained on animal behavior and handling. We have procedures in place, where the owner takes the aggressive dog back, and upon pickup, the owner goes back after checkout to get the dog. Canines who are assertive are usually okay with their owners, just not anyone else - which is why we have this procedure in place. We pride ourselves on being able to give loving care to all temperaments. Please make sure to let us know if you need this accommodation for your furry friend.
What vaccinations do you require in order to Board?
For Canines, we require them to be current on the following vaccinations:
-
Distemper Parvo
-
Bordetella
-
Canine Influenza
-
Rabies
For felines, we require them to be current on the following vaccinations:
-
FVRCP
-
Rabies
-
FELV*
*If the cat is indoors only, a recent Negative Feline Leukemia test will be accepted in place of the FELV vaccine. The Negative test must not be older than one year.*
My dog only has the first shot of the Canine Influenza, do they need both shots in order to board?
As long as they have the first shot of the two-part vaccine, and it does not expire during the duration of their stay with us, they are good to board.
My dog got all the vaccinations today, are they okay to board, or do I have to wait?
We do not have a waiting period for vaccinations at our facility. If your dog has vaccines, they are good to come in to board that same day they received them.
*If you recently adopted from any Humane Society or shelter, you must have had the animal with you at home for a minimum of two weeks before you can board them with us*
My pet is not spayed/neutered, is that an issue?
We allow intact animals to board, no matter the age. This is because we do not have standard group play. Our group services are by request only, so no worries about intact animals mingling.
My pet just had surgery, can I bring them to board while they heal?
For canines that have had surgery, we require a one-week post-surgery waiting period before they are allowed to board. This is due to the risk of sutures coming out, or of infection occurring. Some exceptions apply, please contact us for more details. We have had canines recover at our facility given certain circumstances.
For cats, since felines board in shorelines at our facility - the same as they do at vet offices to recover from surgery - we allow recovering cats to board with us. We frequently board freshly spayed or neutered felines at our facility.
I was unable to get vaccinations, can I still be serviced?
Unfortunately, no. We will have to send you and your animals away if they have not received all of our required vaccinations. If you are able to take them to get the missing vaccines, you are allowed to bring them back for their services. We are unable to service any unvaccinated animals for the animals' health and safety. *Any deposits are non-refundable if the reason is due to your animals being unvaccinated. Our staff corresponds appropriately with both vets and owners a week in advance of any upcoming appointments made, and are unable to make any exceptions for a lack of vaccines.
My dog doesn't do well with other dogs, will they be around anyone else?
No worries! If your dog is not good with others, we do not have standardized group play. All of our services are 'Solo Services' which means it is just your pet and a staff member or two. All group services are done by request only, and strict temperament testing is done beforehand to help avoid any disagreements as much as possible. The only interaction your pet will have with others is through chain-link fencing on the outside patio's due to our kennel setup. We monitor neighbor behavior very closely, and if neighbors seem to have 'beef' with each other we will move them to a different room. We have some clients that cannot have any neighbors, which is okay! We understand not everyone can get along all the time, just like us humans. Rest assured, as we are able to accommodate these situations.
